SKC Board member, Terri, and her husband, Shannon Clarkson, SKC Building Maintenance,  man the information table at the 1997 event.

The primary purpose of the event is to educate the public about responsible dog ownership. Club members are available at our information booth to answer questions and hand out AKC phamplets and other breed specific information. Local veterinarians, Ken Ewy, David Atherton, and Terry Wise, all from the Salina Area Veterinary Association, have volunteered their time during the past three years to speak during one of the 15 minute programs. Club members and friends demonstrate Obedience, Agility, and a Parade of Breeds. We even have a costume contest where the audience claps for their favorite dog.

Buy a dog biscuit and get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. Many thanks to our local pet supply stores, veterinarians, restaurants, individuals, and other businesses who have donated the large assortment of prizes. All proceeds go to a worthy cause such as the Saline County Animal Shelter or TLC Greyhound Adoption.
